Organizations that do not complete the transition to ISO 21001:2025 before 31 December 2027 may have their ISO 21001:2018 certification rendered invalid after the transition deadline.

The revised standard places greater emphasis on organizational context, leadership, strategic asset management planning, risk-based decision-making, sustainability, digital transformation, performance evaluation, and continual improvement.
Organizations certified to ISO 55001:2014 are required to transition to ISO 55001:2024 within the defined transition period in order to maintain certification validity.
In accordance with the UAF Transition Policy, the transition period ends on 31 July 2027. After this date, certifications issued to ISO 55001:2014 will no longer be valid.
