UAF Accredited

United Accreditation Foundation Inc. (UAF) is an accreditation body previously recognized as a member and Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) signatory of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). As of January 1, 2026, IAF merged with the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to form the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI), which now administers a single, unified multilateral recognition arrangement — the Global ACI MRA — in place of the former IAF MLA and ILAC MRA.

UAF’s international recognition has progressed through a series of formal milestones. UAF was admitted as a signatory of the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Medical Device Quality Management Systems (MDQMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) in August 2022, followed by recognition for Certification of Persons (ISO/IEC 17024) in May 2025. Through the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), UAF also holds Mutual Recognition Arrangement signatory status for Quality and Environmental Management Systems (April 2022) and additional sub-scopes including Anti-Bribery Management Systems, Compliance Management Systems, and Energy Management Systems (April 2025).

Global ACI — as the successor to IAF and ILAC — is the world association of conformity assessment accreditation bodies and other bodies interested in conformity assessment across management systems, products, services, personnel, validation and verification, and other similar programmes. Its function is to maintain a single worldwide programme of conformity assessment that reduces risk for businesses and their customers by assuring that accredited certificates can be relied upon globally. Accreditation bodies and Regional Accreditation Group members are admitted to this recognition only after a stringent peer evaluation confirming full compliance with international standards and Global ACI requirements. Once an accreditation body is a signatory, it is required to recognize certificates issued by conformity assessment bodies accredited by all other signatories, within the appropriate scope.

UAF is a member of the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), the regional accreditation cooperation for the Asia Pacific region, formed in 2019 through the merger of APLAC and PAC. APAC operates in recognition with Global ACI and works to facilitate trade and commerce among economies in the Asia Pacific region through mutual recognition of accredited certification.
