Annex SL is now renamed
as Annex L and this is new 2019 edition and the vision behind this to convert the Annex SL
into Annex L is to increase the alignment and consistency of the Management
System standards by providing the unifying and agreed upon high level
structure, identical core text and common terms and core definitions. Various
standards are written in very different ways before
2012. Then after one Group got succeeded and reach to
agreement was the Joint Technical Coordination Group (JTCG) set up by
ISO/Technical Management Board.
Annex SL applies to all
management system standards, such as full ISO standards, Publicly Available
Specifications (PAS) and Technical Specifications (TS). The revised ISO 9001
and ISO 14001, as well as the new ISO 45001 will all be based on Annex L high level
structure:-
Clause 1: Scope
Clause 2: Normative
references
Clause 3: Terms and
definitions
Clause 4: Context of the
organization
Clause 5: Leadership
Clause 6: Planning
Clause 7: Support
Clause 8: Operation
Clause 9: Performance
evaluation
Clause 10: Improvement
Annex L Replaces ISO’s
Guide 83 and that provided base structure and standardized text for
MSS. Guide 83 started to address complaints that many have when integrating
current MSS like ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 and these all standards have
common elements, they are described and organized differently, making it
difficult for organizations to implement multiple standards.
Who Created Annex
L: Annex L is Created by
the ISO Technical Management board & the ISO
Technical Management board is charged with the Managing
Process Technical associated with the implementing new standards.
The one main task of
this is to ensure that the inputs from the various technical team
and committees associated with the each standards are represented in the resulting of
Management system standards
