How does the Certification Body issue ISO certificate in India?
ISO certification can be granted by any accredited certification body in India. As per requirement of ISO 17021, certification body shall conduct onsite audit normally in two stages (Stage-1 & Stage-2 Audit). As an organization, you should ensure proper implementation of the requirement of the management system standard (i.e. ISO) and only when you have successfully implemented standard.
Whether you are manufacture the products and sell it to your customers, or you are providing services to your customers, in either of the cases you can obtain an ISO certification for your organization in India. Procedure for issuance
ISO certificate:
i. Inquiry form: Client organisation should fill & send Inquiry from to certification body. (inquiry form can be downloaded from the portal of www.ISOindia.org
ii. Contract Review: Certification body shall review inquiry form & may seek additional information (if required) & shall calculate the applicable audit man-days for the organization which mainly based on nature of the client’s organization, location, size, number of staff & other factor like seasonality, complexity etc.
iii. Quotation from certification body
iv. Acceptance of quotation by client organisation
v. Service agreement between client & certification body: Client & CB should agree on a service agreement. This contract usually defines rights and obligations of both parties and includes liability issues, confidentiality, and access rights.
vi. CB will do gap analysis related to various policies & procedures being followed in the organization. Review of existing work will help the CB to identify the possible gaps against the requirements stipulated in the ISO standard.
vii. Appointment of Audit Team: CB appoints an auditor for related sector to do initial audit in organization. Initial certification audit is divided into two categories- Stage 1 and Stage 2.

x. Closure of Non Conformity: After audit, auditor will check whether all the non-conformities have been eliminated or not. If the auditor is satisfied, he will prepare final audit report & recommends the client for issuing the certificate.

audit report, CB will issue the ISO certificate.
