International organization for standardization is world largest international voluntary standard which is first time founded in year 1947 & then have published 22677 international standards till 10-July-2019 and covering all the aspects and business requirements and technologies. At a Present time they have a members from  the 164 different countries and now 140 Peoples are continuously working full time for Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.

ISO (International organization for standardization) Story:  

In 1946, and country London 65 delegated and 25 countries are meted for the discussion of Future for the International Organization for standardization and then finally in 1947 ISO finally comes into existence with 67 technical committees. 

ISO (International organization for standardization)  first offices:   In the years 1949, ISO moves into small private houses, in Geneva Switzerland & In the early 1950s the Central Secretariat has 5 members of staff in the International organization for standardization.  

ISO First Standard: The First ISO Standard That Is ISO/R 1:1951 Standard Reference Temperature For Industrial Length Measurements, Is Published On The Year 1951 & then after Standard is updated so many times and is currently ISO 1:2002 Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) - Standard reference temperature for geometrical product specification.   

The ISO Journals: ISO has published their monthly information for about its technical committees &   the standards been published and administrative changes to the organization and its members.

General Assembly ISO:   At the beginning of 1955, ISO has 35 members and 68 standards (called recommendations). Henry St Leger is the Secretary General.

Units of International Systems: ISO publishes the standard ISO 31 on quantities and units in 1960.  ISO 31 is based on the System international units. The SI sets out one unit for each quantity. The objective of the SI system is to reach world-wide uniformity in units of measurement.

ISO Developing Countries:  In, the 1960’s ISO Works to include more developing countries in its International Standardization work. In the Years 1961 it establishes the  DEVCO, a committee for developing country matters, and in 1968 introduces Correspondent membership. This allows developing countries to be informed of International Standardization work without the full costs of ISO membership.

Freight containers:  ISO publishes its first standard for Freight Containers in Years 1968. Packaging and Freight is one of the areas where ISO is permanently active, changing the way goods travel across the world.

End Of 'Technical Nationalism: In the Years 1969 Olle Sturen becomes ISO Secretary General  & In one of his speeches he tells that International Standardization is the end of 'technical nationalism'.   

ISO 9000 family:  In the Years 1987, ISO has published its first Quality Management system standard & this standard is going to one of most well known and largest Selling standard. The standards provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is consistently improved.

ISO Goes digitally: In the Year 1995, ISO has Launches first Website & after five years in Year 2000 ISO is selling its standards in the online market.

ISO 14001:  In the Year 1996, ISO Launches its Environmental management system  ISO 14001 Standard & this provides tools for companies and organizations to help them identify and control their environmental impact. ISO 14001:2015 and its supporting standards such as ISO 14006:2011 focus on environmental systems to achieve this. The other standards in the family focus on specific approaches such as audits, communications, labeling and life cycle analysis, as well as environmental challenges such as climate change.

ISO Development and new Technologies: In the Year 2003, ISO has appointed New Secretary General name Alan Bryden and he Works 05 Years on the ISO and expanded to covers its work and new Technologies. ISO's work on social responsibility, which leads to the launch of ISO 26000 in 2010.

 

ISO 27001 Information Securities:  ISO 27001 International Standard for Information security Management system is Launches in Years 2005,by IEC's joint technical committee JTC1  & after that business for ISO 27001 is increases and this standard is for securing the system and minimizing risks & this ISO 27001:2005  is one of the most popular demanding standard .

ISO 2009 Years Story:  In the Years 2009, ISO has appointed Rob Steele Secretary-General and under this Secretary General Organization has adopts faster, better mentality that cuts down standards’ development time and helps establish the role that standards play in a fast-paced world.

ISO 26000: In the Years November, 2010 ISO Launches New standard ISO 26000 and this is the first International Standard which Provides Guidelines for Social Responsibility.  ISO 26000 has established itself as a global benchmark for organization and cares care impacts on wider societies.

ISO 50001 Energy management Standard:  In the Year 2011, ISO has launches International Standard Energy Management System and this standard provides to Public and Private sector organization with the strategies how to increasing the Energy efficiency, improving performance and reducing the cost of Energy.

 ISO 37001 anti-bribery management system standard:  In the Years 2016, ISO has Launches first International Standard for anti-bribery management system that is ISO 37001 and this ISO Standard is designed to help the organization for bribery risk in their own operations and throughout their global value chains & this standard has the potential to reduce the corporate risk and cost related to bribery & This provides a framework for preventing, detecting and addressing bribery.

ISO celebrates its 70 years Completion: In the Years 2007, ISO has celebrates its 70 Years completion from the years 1947 and now in 2017 ISO have 163 members and total of 21000 standards.

ISO Appoints new Secretary-General in Year 2017: In Years 2017, ISO has appointed its new secretary name Sergio Mujica and he bringing large experience from the past roles in the WCO and the Chilean Government.
